Forgiveness Is the Way Forward
Don’t let your pain become your prison. A message from Ephesians 4:23.
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,
even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:32
If you are a Christian, you may struggle sometimes thinking about people who have done you wrong. You want them to admit that they were wrong but rather they just blame you. This plays like a loop in your head. Maybe you brush it off or you get distracted - but for some reason or another it goes away, but because you didn’t deal with it spiritually, it comes back around and lives rent free in your mind, fostering deeper frustration. And now, it’s distracting you from the things God would have you do for His will in His glory.
Someday they might realize they were wrong, or you may realize you were wrong, or that you were right, but handled it wrong, but either way, in this moment, whether true, or whether manufactured inside your own mind, you feel hurt or angry.
The solution to your lack of peace is to forgive them. God forgave you for your sin that sent his son to be tortured and murdered on a cross. Can’t you forgive this person?
It’s not optional if you’re a Christian - we are commanded to forgive. So, if you’re not forgiving people, take note and remember that you’re lack of forgiveness is disobedience, and it will put distance between you and God. Is this what you want? Another bad relationship to think about?
So, reflect on how Christ has forgiven you, obey God and forgive people.
