Why Women Can't Trust the Left With Equality or Justice
Let me just go ahead and get this out of the way – the left is going to see my name on this article and immediately start in on how because I’m a man I can’t speak to this issue. It’s true, I am a man, but the great thing about being a human is everyone can see right and wrong, and truth and lies, whether they are being put forth by men or women. Women have always fought for equality and justice. The left, however, doesn’t really care for equality or justice like they say they do.
Take for example, Nanci Pelosi. At a press conference in 2012 in which Pelosi was announcing she would submit her name to continue as leader of the Democrat minority in the House of Representatives, she was asked whether or not there would be merits to having a younger party leader and whether or not the age of the party leader would help or hurt the party in the long term. The question about age and service has always been asked of male politicians, the most notable being Reagan in the 1984 presidential debates. When the question was asked of Pelosi however, it drew boos from the women members of congress standing behind her with shouts of “discrimination” and “sexism”. Meanwhile, Barak Obama had just won reelection, many believe, due to his youth and ability to attract younger voters. It was a fair and legitimate question – she was 72 at the time. The left always touts their leadership in the fight for equal treatment but when given the chance to respond to a fair question that’s also been asked of men, they suddenly become victims of discrimination. This question didn’t make her a victim, the question actually gave her the equality she had been asking for when she voiced her support for equality between men and women.
Now fast forward to the Senate Confirmation Hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Senator Diane Feinstein, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, sat on a report for three months that alleged that Judge Kavanaugh assaulted a fellow high school classmate over thirty-five years ago. The alleged victim has conflicting memories of the night in question and the memories she does have, she claims were repressed and only surfaced decades after the alleged incident. She currently refuses to testify unless the FBI investigates the alleged incident that happened when she was a teenager. The democrats want the FBI to investigate an alleged incident that no one else witnessed or seems to remember and an alleged incident that the left kept quiet for months until the timing was perfect in hopes it would sabotage a Supreme Court nominee from being confirmed. Judge Kavanaugh is facing a serious charge and the democrats need to treat it like a serious charge, not a convenience to their obstructionist efforts of the nomination process. If the accusation turns out to be true, it would be something that should have been brought to the attention of the American people and the Senate Judiciary Committee months ago.
Whether it’s the hypocrisy of democrats like Nanci Pelosi or the political manipulation of alleged assaults in a Senate hearing, the abuse of women seems to be nothing more than a stage prop for the left and I hope the American people see through it. There are women out there who need help and justice. Political maneuvering like this only trivializes instances that can’t afford to sit on a politician’s desk and it’s a mockery of the victims to only be interested as long as it fits into political stage play. To the left, fairness, equality, and justice are nothing more than props to be used when the political script calls for them to be pulled out on stage.
